The Woolcock Institute, where CIRUS is physically located, houses a purpose-built $10 million research centre with:

  • a 12 bed sleep research laboratory
  • a state of the art circadian research facility (ACCESS) which allows total sound and light isolation for indefinite periods of time

The entire facility occupies over 4500 m2 of space and includes:

  • conference facilities
  • library and broadband internet
  • a strong five person bio- and systems engineering support team
  • a range of equipment available for sleep apnea and cardiovascular research including devices to measure sleep and breathing (polysomnography), respiratory drive (ventilatory response), arterial stiffness, 24 hour blood pressure, body composition and immunoassays
